With lechazo. Good, bright, fruit driven. I think the reserva would have been a better choice, but this was nice too, though at times I wished it had more power to stand up to the lechazo.

I was not hopeful about this on opening, when it showed aromas of what I call ‘cheap red wine’ - that generic smell of rotting sweet fruit, anyway after a couple of hours it was showing much better. It shows roasted meats, green peppercorns, orange rind, even an unexpected oyster shell minerality on the finish. Really quite brisk and persistent acidity. Not bad, but the profile is a bit disjointed and tending towards the astringent.
