This needs decanting and we did not have time.. We asked for the Marlene N.3 and the sommelier at Compagnie des Vins Supernaturels, Paris told us we do have a 2002 Leone off the list and like Pavlov’s dog we went let’s do it. The nose is really special, bright , expressive, spice, herbs de Provence. Touch over extracted on the fruit we felt which carries as such on the palate which never really opened up and had a weird palate feel difficult to place. Maybe it’s now paying the price for an over exuberant youth? 92

More muscular than I expected, one could argue it's slightly over extracted, but nicely balanced with mid-palate of tobacco and earth, and a decent finish. Paired nicely with a gnudi and pancetta dish.

Honestly I am not super fond of those wines anymore although it showed very well, big fruit, as black berries, currant, a bit of port like evolution, the palate is sweet, and greasy soft, tannins are so silky, it is really a good wine, but a bit too ripe for my palate, lacks a little something to make that great, OMHO, would fit in an OZ Shiraz tasting probably...

Has some warmth and generosity of fruit along with a lovely spicy lift. There's chocoaltey development and baked earth tannins drying off the finish. Plenty of grunt here.

Coravin @ Park Hotel Vossevangen. Ripe and hefty aromas with plums and spices. Soft, concentrated and juicy. Real punch here. Lacks some structure.
