Wines of the Camino de Santiago; 9/13/2022-10/19/2022 (Northern Spain): This was a tale of two wines in many ways. At first, it was weak, a bit confected, and extremely ordinary and boring. It lacked depth and came across as something very cheap. But, what it really needed was a good amount of air as it took about 90 minutes to flesh out and really shine with a savoriness along with dark red cherries, raspberries, bramble berries, violets, spice notes, licorice, crushed red fruits, and crushed rocks. The Full bodied feel was plush and enticing with crisp. medium+ acidity and silky, medium tannins. There is some alcohol warmth on the back end that creeps up. A few more years of aging will really let this shine and hopefully it’ll show more flesh from the getgo. Once it turned on, it was a beautiful Bierzo.

No se hizo cata completa pero, aunque agradable y con matices, despuntó demasiado el ácido y quizá le faltaba algo de intensidad.
