Tras da Viña, comes from a south-facing site planted in 1970 with cuttings from El Palomar whose sandier, richer soil yields an intensely mineral, long-lived wine. This cuvée typically goes through malolactic fermentation and spends an extra year on the lees to tame its power.
An intoxicating nose with aromas that waft from the glass effortlessly when at the proper temperature. Scents of salt block, freshly zested lemon, white stone fruit, nectarine, orange blossom and florals with mineral notes and hints of river stone, herbs, white tea, lemongrass and subtle ginger spice. Extremely well textured on the palate. The almost creamy texture is cut with the focused and mouthwatering acidity. The phenolics provide structure and balance to the palate. Flavors show intensity as well in the notes of lemon zest, stone fruits of nectarine and kumquat with notes of saline, mineral, flowers, white tea, herbs and stony earth. The finish lingers with intensity.

Glass: Gabriel Gold Very pale yellow color. First impression was that we're not talking about Albariño. I was missing some tangerine notes, but with time they come (~ 10min). At the beginning some flower/herbal and nice volcanic (?)/ mineral notes. With time the nose and palate became more fruity. Noteworthy, the acidity is relatively mild here. The body is medium with a nice creamy mouthfeel and little touch of vanilla. With time the wine was get broader but not big. Overall, very nice showing and I wouldn't mind to have it in my cellar. (btw, 3 to 4 years will help the wine to develop more. The substance is definitely there. Yes, and we've upside here).
