Excellent Grenache from Eleven Confessions, needs a lot of air for the high ethanol to blow off a bit, decant of 4 hours and it starts revealing itself. Dark garnet-purple in color, high alcohol, medium + tannin, aromas of new leather, dark cherry, stewed plums, light licorice. On the palate baking spice, decadent black fruit, iron and a hint of lilacs. So impressive and many more years ahead of this. 96+

Wine of the week, against some pretty tough competition (Quil, Dominus, Barton, etc.). Unlike last try I dbl decanted 3 hours ahead, and it did wonders, bringing out tons of secondary flavors. Great mouthfeel as always with SQN.

This was a stunner. First SQN I've had where I fully "get it"! Soft and delicate all the way through. Super elegant finish. Delicious through and through. Nice fruit but as someone else mentioned - it's not a big fruit core - it's subtle in such a good way. Best of the party last night! Little decant and it's ready to go!

Decanted. Minty, polished, very large but so young. 93-94+

Very very good
Probably a little young
Tempered rating by expectation but how much better does Grenache get?
