Blunt force trauma- but the good kind. Amped up acid, tannin, alcohol, and oak all in balance make this surprisingly drinkable despite the high octane. Definitely not an everyday wine but it has its place!

Blackberry, raspberry, ripe cherry, cough medicine (it's there), anise, licorice, clove, cinnamon, cedar and as usual from Herman Story an extremely silk mouthfeel and great intensity. Hides the high alcohol very well but you do get a slight bitterness on the finish. Very nice.

More tannins than most HS wines and I love this one. Will be interesting to see how it ages over the next 10 years.
