  • Sourced from the Santa Ynez Valley, this wine is a medium-to-deep ruby blend of 66% Mourvèdre, 20% Syrah and 14% Grenache. The Mourvèdre and Grenache components were aged for 16 months in neutral oak, while the Syrah component was aged for the same interval in 100% new French oak barriques. Tasted at the winery, it is packed with boysenberry and dark currant fruit, accented with notes of licorice, cardamom, coriander and bittersweet chocolate. Medium-bodied, fresh, judiciously oaked and with clandestine alcohol (15.2%), it is layered on the mid-palate and concludes with a lengthy finish that carries some tannic grip. This delicious young red will benefit from short-term cellaring. Drink 2023-2030.

  • Hard to rate this one, it had big fruit but seemed slightly effervescent until the last glass.
