Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • From the winery notes Feb '21 - What else is there to say here? We've been making the Cabernet Franc from Bob Pedroni's dry-farmed, 40 year old vineyard since 2012 and it never fails to impress. This vintage is no exception. As usual, this wine is 100% varietal and vineyard.
The nose flexes archetypal cab Franc character; fresh-
picked violets, dry-cured olives and just enough green Chile Character to let you know it's not plain old Cab. The pallet expands on the summer garden with tart blackberry, cassis and a wave of baking spices connecting the mid-palate to the finish; highlighted by all-spice, clove, and a touch of vanilla
from the light breeze of oak that delicately frames a firm and structured finish.
This wine will hit stride in the next 3-4 months and then improve quickly for a decade and then holding for another 10 years at least.
