Another testament to the aging potential of CA wines. ripe plums, Cloves, chocolate, a bit of cedar. well balanced. Excellent winemaking from Beringer!

We received this wine as a shipment from the Beringer wine club and stored in a wine cooler until tonight. We grilled some chicken, asparagus and sweet corn on a charcoal grill and this wine was a great complement. The fruity flavors may have been lost since the wine was past it's prime, but we enjoyed it greatly with the meal. The wine was very smooth and retained a great oaky flavor.

I have to say that after reading the poor reviews on this one that we were afraid to open the bottle of it we'd been holding on to since we received it in a club shipment in 2002 or so.
We drank it last night and had a different, much more positive, impression.
Nice round, soft and inviting nose with a little clove and cedar, and some red fruit and floral notes remaining.
Medium bodied and soft on the palate, with a nice finish.
All in all quite delicious and still structured - sorry the others had a poor experience with it.

Not bad for a 2000 and I tend to not be wowed by cab franc. Good structure, shows a little green pepper. Good finish.

Had on Xmas after decanting; Not much fruit left but nice aromatics of bell pepper and rose; paired well with our roast pork and lamb shish kabob
