Still somewhat fruity after about 2 hrs uncorked..at first very flat but after time pleasant fruitiness with mildly short finish. Definitely at the end of its useful life

This wine has the alluring scent of pine needles and the hot, dry wind of Sardinia (It really reminds me of my trip there back in 2001) with a hint of cranberry in the background. On the palate this is a very chewy, sappy mouthful of Grenache (Cannonau, same thing), very pure, sweet and firm with nice acidity on the medium finish. This really is a beauty albeit a straightforward one, but for $8.50 who can really complain. Outstanding QPR!

An example of how a simple wine can be excellently prepared. Nose with hints of berry compote with chocolate. Easy to drink on the palate. Lining the mouth completely with sweet melting. Not complex, but nice. Soft, caramel finish with jam. Can take a lot of air.

($10) Herbs roasting on sauna rocks, cherries, black berries. Tastes of sunshine. Warm, plummy fruit on the palate. Medium to full bodied with okay length.

This a great value. The WA is right on describing it as "dense, chewy, layered ... with sweet kirsch intermixed with red licorice and vanilla." This really opened up beautifully about two hours after a splash decanting. I finished the other half of the bottle tonight and while the fruit and finish were weaker, it was holding up nicely.
