The wine benefited from two hours aeration. It offered ripe red and dark fruits, stems, earth, some iron and barnyard aromas on the nose. On the palate the medium-bodied wine was juicy, with ripe red and dark fruit flavours, joined by an iron note on the finish, paired with good acidity, a fresh, slightly minty mouthfeel and medium-length. The wine went downhill over night. A solid but uninspiring effort.

This is drinking nicely at the moment. Lots of toasty oak, not elegant, not long - but a good enough burgundy to deliver pleasure on its own. The initial impression of greenness is not a problem anymore. Hard to score higher than this anyway, mostly because of the slighty rude oak treatment.

Round and toasty oak on the nose. Some complexity with spice, red berries, roses, violet and aniseed, typical for this producer. Firm and steady palate, with present, slightly green tannins and good acidity. Not very long, not too elegant, but quite full and rounded - certainly very good. Has the backbone for cellaring, will improve.

(Tollot-Beaut Savigny-lès-Beaune Champs Chevrey) A tighter, finer core of black-shaded fruits on the nose - some depth too. A super fine texture to the palate, just a little more padding than the 'Lavières'- again dark shaded fruit. I always liked this wine, and here is no exception.
