  The wine was opened and poured and followed over a few days. This is good but that about it. This is somewhat disjointed and uneven. There are no obvious flaws but this lacks the components or balance to give a more compelling showing. Purchased a bunch of these on release and follows since then, this wine has never given anything more than a good to very good showing. At this stage it shows a combination of maturing elements with some underlying youthful notes. This does not give the impression that it will improve with additional bottle age.

  Decanted for three hours. Medium color, aromatic cherry pie filling with a little forest, good concentration and acidity. Very balanced, with lengthy finish. I want every 11 year old Burgundy I open to drink just like this.

  Opened and poured, this shows well defined aromatics of red cherry, spice and earth notes. The color is a light to medium ruby that is correct of the wine age. The medium bodied shows good length on the finish but lacks harmony. There is a strong tartness that picks on the mid-palate and continues through the finish. If this wine can show better balance and the better integrate the tart component, it does have the ability to give an outstanding showing. Hopefully a few additional years of bottle age will give a more harmonious impression.

  I had not planned to open this for another 5-10 years, however I suddenly open and pour on a whim. Surprisingly open on the nose, excellent pinot fragrances. In the mouth excellent power and intensity, with a perfect high level of acidity, long firm finish. Quite large, but all in all an excellent bottle. Will improve and probably last at least 15 years if not longer.
