Garnet, no bricking. Sandalwood, figs and violet betray a high proportion of Merlot. Medium bodied on the palate, gentle fruit, good balance, ending with a fresh yet harmonious finish. Retailing at $12.95, adjusting for dollar depreciation (=$16.91 in 2002), associated costs of carrying inventory, opportunity cost… I'm pretty sure this represents terrible business for the domaine. Considering all of that, this is a bargain. A straightforward, mature, no-frills old school entry level Claret, with old school pricing. Drink now
