{screwcap, 12%, $9} Bordeaux under screwcap? Wow. Garnet colour, youthful aromas of sour cherries, coconut and a bit of smoke. Clean and fruity on the palate – quite light, and very much a ‘light claret’, only the powdery tannins (light as they are) distinguish this from a grenache-based wine. Shortish finish, and with minimal back palate, this stands up very well to industrial New World offerings. Why should Languedoc have all the fun?
