Everything in perfect balance. If this were a Burgundy it would sell for three times as much IMHO. Dark cherry, with an acid edge and a bit of minerality.

Very pale ruby with reflections of red. This is a crowd-pleasing, red fruit-driven and very easygoing sort of Pinot Noir from Kistler. On the nose it is plump and buoyant with aromas of fresh strawberry and fresh raspberry alongside those of lightly cooked red plum, roses, fresh compost and a generous, but not obtrusive amount of oak spice. On the palate this is medium bodied with medium+ acidity, soft tannins, a tiny touch of alcoholic heat, and on overall genial feel. Not the last word in complexity or cut, but this is hard to dislike.

During a merchant tasting, not detailed notes. I really liked this today, so charming, great pinot aromas, raspberry, spices, well integrated oak, a kittle light on the palate, but hard not to love.
