It's been a few weeks so don't remember the deets, which goes to day it didn't wow me much. But I do remember it had a nice floral perfume and some nice iron and singed alder notes on the palate. Maybe a bit stewed fruit.
I believe I put this in a scanner and gave it a few hours prior to consumption.

#93 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2017. I was 1st introduced and took a liking to this wine in 2017 at the Wine Spectator's Wine Experience Critics Choice Grand Tasting in New York City.
Double Decanted for 11 hours prior to 1sr glass at a restaurant.
This wine is mature and in the perfect drinking window. It should stay here for a few more years but now is a good time to open.
The nose was of dried flowers, dark fruits, and brown spices. The palate was of blueberries, blackberries, acai berries, all spice, crushed gravel and graphite minerality. There were hints of cocoa. There was medium acidity and medium tannin structure. The wine was full bodied and perfectly balanced.
This remains my favorite vintage of Revana Estate and its truly hit its stride. I have 2 magnums left and will pop the cork within the next 3 years.
My score is a 95+ with a little bit of upside if it builds a a bit more complexity that maybe is found in a larger format with slightly more age.

Polished fruits of the forest. Excellent balance of of fruit and structure. Vibrant freshness and tannin tingle the palate. Bright and elegant rather than weighty. Long with hints of complexity. Still very young and a little raw. Leave for another 5 years, then should last for the following 10 to 15 years. Lacks the depth required for a higher score- perhaps this will develop with time but I doubt it.

This is in a perfect spot right now. The tannins are still present indicating further life on the shelf. I'd say drink now to 2024...
