  • I could easily be fooled into thinking this was white Burgundy. Crisp, minerally, citric, chalky, steely and saline. Very good length and balance. Very clean and precise.

  • Done in collaboration with Jean-Marc Roulot, was picked early as the grapes ripened early but maintained acidity. Fermented in barrel without malolactic, spending 11 months in barrique, this has an up-front fruit, a salinity shared with Chacra Chardonnay, and a tasty finish lent by the calcareous components of the alluvial soil.
100% Chardonnay Aged: 18% in concrete eggs, 25% in stainless steel tanks and 57% in French oak barrels (12% new) for 10 months

Colour pale straw bright and clear 15/15
Nose med intensity , lemon , lemon custard , white flower blossom , grilled nuts cashews, chalky minerality, stone fruits peach , good balance of aromas 28/30
Palate med bodied , crisp flavours from the nose crisp acidity ( not MLF) long clean finish 41/44
overall these notes written on day 2 , i wasn't quite sure I liked in on day 1 but has blossomed on day 2 much more interesting so i'll decant my next bottle 10/11

  • Great chalky minerality on the nose. Zesty lemon is the fruit, with the flesh following as it warms up in the glass. Some light, delicate oak presence. Real burst of ripe lemon on the attack. Becoming more mineral towards the finish. Ginger was suggested on the nose on the second glass and it is definitely there, dried style that you’d use for baking. A baby, and will almost certainly improve, all the parts are there

  • Under DIAM 10. Deep straw to pale gold in the glass. Opens up with lemon zest, gooseberry, dry rocks, crushed chalk, fresh white flowers, and on the final glass a touch of pickled ginger. The palate is similarly tart in profile with quince leading the way, there’s good concentration for an adolescent wine, and bright acidity providing real nerve. Overall a very steely, linear, pure, and precise offering that will no doubt blossom with more bottle age.
