Brian's: Excellent shape, high acid, nice medium sweetness with slight earthy mushroom-damp cellar; rich and flavorful with ample petrol notes. Great with ham/scallop potatoes and asparagus.

Dinner at Lotus of Siam (Lotus of Siam, Las Vegas): Very exciting nose of pineapple, peaches and apples that have been drizzled with diesel fuel. Really enjoyed the exotic palate that combined spicy tropical fruit with crushed rocks and lanolin. Very impressed with the depth this Riesling had. The acidity on the finish was still intense and this was a great accompaniment with the delicious beef jerky at Lotus of Siam.

Yu Jean Kang’s: This had the usual sharp orange-mandarine sour high a’s notes, searing, dry, with little weight in mid-p, and failry simple but nonetheless fun, and a great speritif wine! needs something deepfried to counter the a’s. You can tell the pedigree is much different. David and Rick
