Nose: Clean, medium+ intense, coffee, toast, blackcurrant, black cherry, tobacco.
Palate: Dry, high acidity, medium finegrained tannins. Medium alccohol, medium body. Medium + intense. Coffee, toast, blackcurrant, black cherry, oregano, white pepper. Medium+ finish.
This is a very good quality wine. The tannins are subtly integrated, there is an abundance of primary fruit and a very pleasant high acidity. For this wine to be of outstanding quality, it needs more tertiary aromas to develop.
Suitable for bottle ageing; lots of primary fruit, the tannins can soften even more and tertiary aromas will develop.

Excellent, distinctive wine. The Valli Gibbston Vineyard Pinot seems to differ quite a bit from vintage to vintage. There's always a firm, lean backbone, also a lot of acid, but the 2019 comes with a wonderfully powdery texture on the outer edges. Fruit is on the darker side, but the acid keeps things exciting. Ready to drink now, but built to last.

Pretty stunning pinot noir, everything you'd expect from Central Otago. Light, floral, luscious red fruits, red currant, some pink peppercorn spice. The thing that surprised me the most was the notes of blood orange and orange peel, made this stand out from its NZ pinot noir siblings.

satisfying ruby colour in the glass, it opens to supple notes of cherries and strawberries punctuated by rosemary, sous-bois, and fresh wood shavings. in the mouth it is light bodied, but immediately satisfying. the fruit flavours, acidity and soft tannins are in near-perfect balance, as nuances and complexities get revealed with time in the mouth. the focus and purity of the fruit give it a seemingly effortless elegance that carries thru the moderately long finish.
(favourite wine of the tasting, sold out immediately)

fine grained tannins, well structured, with solid strength, m+ finish with some dry herbals and black tea. a little closed, still young.
