A dark, nearly opaque ruby in the glass, with color out to the edges with no bricking. The nose features blackberry, black currant, graphite and oak spices. Pretty conservative on the palate, with both blue and black fruits, oak, graphite, plum and tobacco. Medium body and intensity. Not overly cool but certainly not a warm wine either. Probably on the decline, with not quite enough fruit to counter the persistent oak influences. We bought the 2005 Bordeaux vintage quite heavily, and in general so far I'm finding them pretty shy, tough, and reserved.

Four years later and the wood is still outweighing the fruit a bit here, unfortunately. Dense, opaque coloring, with brickish garnet at the very edges. Aromas of darker fruits (blue, black, dark red), dried apricot, graphite, root vegetables, and earth. Medium body, medium(+) acid and finish, with flavors of blue and black fruits and drying leather. Mid-palate is hollow.

An opaque purplish ruby in the glass, appearing black in the depth of the pour. The nose beckons with blackberry, black currant, and oak spices. Excellent concentration and intensity, with well-integrated toasty oak and associated spices, and ample acidity. This was textbook Bordeaux, and was enjoyed on its own from a 375ml. Robert Parker speaks very well of this winery and its wines, and we shall seek out more.

Nose of purple fruits, boysenberry, licorice and a hint of green pepper and chocolate.
Palate follows the nose with the addition of a prominent oaky note. Tannins are noticeable but fine and the acid is med+. The oak detracts from the enjoyment of the wine, don't think it will every fully integrate. Still appears somewhat youthful, but I doubt that this wine will improve much.

I found the first glass best. Started to lose fruit favors.
