Community Tasting Notes (8) Avg Score: 87.5 points

  • Medium lemon, bordering on light gold with medium viscosity legs (12% ABV). The nose of this Chenin Blanc has medium (+) intensity aromas of lemon pith, wool, grapefruit zest, orange blossom and honeysuckle. The palate is off-dry with some high acidity and a medium body. The citrus melange and floral notes are of good intensity and the wine begs to be drunk. It finishes with a medium (-) length but it entices me back for more. A delicious aperitif which I will pair with Peruvian chicken in the air fryer and a Middle Eastern rice dish laced with cinnamon. It gets 87 points from me and at $16, 3 stars. Drink now.

  • 12,5% alcohol.

Youthful pale green color. The nose feels fresh and youthful but also somewhat linear with aromas of crunchy green apples, some herby notes, a little bit of white peach and a hint of stony minerality. The wine is crisp, dry-ish-to-medium dry and quite light-bodied on the palate with somewhat linear and slightly neutral flavors of lemony citrus fruits, some tart Granny Smith apple tones, a little bit of stony minerality, light crunchy notes of fresh white peach, a hint of tangy salinity and a touch of whitecurrant. The bright, racy acidity offsets some of the residual sugar sweetness while keeping the wine focused and structured. The finish is lively, fresh and crunchy with bright, straightforward flavors of whitecurrants, some green apple, a little bit of lemony citrus fruit, a hint of tangy salinity and a sweeter touch of ripe white peach.

A nice, fresh and simple little Vouvray. Nothing special or particularly complex. Good balance between the zippy acidity and residual sugar that doesn't come across as particularly sweet, just gives some nice boost to the fruit department. A solid everyday white for those situations that call for a little bit of residual sugar but not too much fruit. Perhaps a bit pricey for the quality at 15,08€, but not excessively so.

  • Wasn't sure what to expect for the $15 entrance fee. Surprisingly good - Asian pears, some pineapple, flinty, good acidity. On the sweet end of off-dry, but good nevertheless. Its no Huet, but good the price.

  • Deeply unpleasant for me. Described as “off-dry”; which in this case means very sweet to my palate. Reminded me of Muscato, and not quite a desert wine.

So far outside my preferred taste I don’t feel qualified to give further notes.
