  • Late night Maison Dakota session. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru. Thick red wax seal.
Appearance is cloudy, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of nice natural funk earth, haw flakes, hawthorn. Youthful.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet earth, haw flakes hawthorn, funky purple fruit and red flowers. Medium+ finish.
Very good quality. Natural but nice, probably on account of the fragrant hawthorns. Drink young and fresh.
Ancient styled blend of Gamay, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay!?

  • Pretty nose with notes of wild strawberry, red cherry, flowers, a bit of earth, and baking spices. Pretty high acidity with more red fruit, berries, orange zest, and citrus notes. Nice finish. The wine feels very light, but there are a lot of subtle flavors and complexity. Very enjoyable and engaging.

  • Found myself at a natural wine bar and decided this would be my flier for the night. Fizz from second fermentation...I guess this is the world of "natural wine" right? Cloudy light red color. At first whiff, I got an assemblage similar to pinot noir from Jura. Unfortunately this overwhelming game-y naturalness took over 5-10 minutes in and never left. It smelled like barbequed beef hearts...sorry but that's just not what I want to smell when I drink wine. Couldn't have more than a glass without feeling unwell - never again for me

  • Medium ruby in the glass. Tight on the nose at first, so give this a bit of time in the decanter. Opens up to a floral dominance which leads to redcurrant, cranberry, blackcurrant and a strong herbaceous edge. Palate is silky smooth with just a light brush of tannins. Refreshing acidity, moderate alcohol. Everything in check. If you like elegance & style, this is your animal.
