  • Primarily Grenache with a touch of Syrah, co-fermented. Aged in inox tanks.
Aromas in the glass present with notes of mixed berries, blackberry, dark cherry, dried strawberry and mulberry that bring in notes of dried herbs, warm stones, dried flowers, ground pepper, earth and hints of anise and sandalwood.
On the palate bright and lifted, yet supple with an almost creamy mid-palate. Tannins are grippy and structured. Flavors of mixed berries macerated in pepper, floral tea, dried herbs, earth, and hints of tobacco and anise. Pleasantly lingering through the finish.
    Overall enjoyable and very quaffable.

  • Bought 2b for CAD 11+/b (reflects 5% mixed case discount; add 15% tax) from a Lower Mainland chain last week; this is # 2. Screwcap. No decant, none needed. Dark ruby; light Grenache and Syrah nose; light-bodied Rhone flavours. On Day 1, this was a light Rhone that we might use instead of a simple Pinot Noir. Its strength is that it is durable. We sampled to bottle for 5 days (under vacuvin), and it maintained its fruit and even improved a bit. If it had more body, then it would be a contender. My evaluation (see earlier posts for my 4-category, non-point rating system): This is notable when considering quality, age, and price in the BCLDB environment (high taxes, highly regulated and protected).
