  • Cherry red color with candy and violet bouquet. Balanced alcohol and acid plus. Medium body and velvety tannins. Medium to long finish with good focus of flavors.

  • light and clear in appearance. very fragrant bouquet, floral, dusty, and mineral with a touch of tart red berry fruit. you expect a palate that's punchy, slightly tart or sour but it never comes. rather, it's a nicely balanced slightly sweet fruity entry with an earthy mineral-laden core that's silky textured. that mineral flavour holds long on the finish. great value at <$30. 91+

  • Interesting reading thru the other tasting notes… these people clearly have no idea what to expect in a Frappato. Which is totally fine, btw, not a knock on them, but for someone considering trying this wine, know that it is a fantastic example of Frappato typicity. Dark cherries, and a huge amount of dusty earth and minerals. Light and nimble, intoxicatingly fragrant and brilliantly acidic. If anything maybe a touch hot (prefer 12-12.5 for this variety). Certainly not the wine for Napa Cab lovers, but anyone into more elegant reds should give it a go.

Edit: left about a half glass on the counter overnight and it still smelled/tasted great 24h later.

  • Fascinating wine. Its semitransparent appearance is deceiving, because it tastes like a concentrated red fruit paste, with hibiscus and spice accents. The bitterness on the finish adds interest. Very distinctive; I can’t think of another wine that tastes like this.

  • PnP, drunk over dinner, then the leftovers on day two.
On day 1 the nose was dominated by blackberries/blackberry jam, which was almost too sweet for me. On the palate it was well balanced and easy to drink, without much complexity. Things improved on day two, with the nose becoming more subtle, still fruity, but less in-your-face fruity.
