  Another great bottle of this. Despite the undeniable ripeness of the vintage, this.is showing so beautifully. Layered, deep, perfumed and aromatic, it shows an inner sweetness that is irresistible. Not a bad idea to try one of these on the fruit.

  My second time tasting this after the visit a few days ago, this time a bottle from my cellar. This is beautifully fruited and surprisingly open, with notes of dark and red cherries, crushed dark flowers, some sweet spices, a touch of graphite, also some herbal notes, some dark chocolate and just a touch of game. It‘s medium-full bodied, with very good persistence, it has medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin that is very velvety. Good length. This Marechaudes might be a little darker and „bigger“ in this vintage, but it still has that excellent finesse and velvety texture that is typical of this site. As always the Rognet et Corton tasted next to it was bigger, richer and more structured as well as a little darker in aromatics.
