Monthly Tasting at Wine Wizards: Stightly herbaceous but a very, very nice Cabenet from the Oc. Dark and juicy, good varietal character and balance, not sweet or over oaked At $15 well worth having

Wild, herbaceous notes on the Nose with juicy red berry flavors. Unlike most cabs, it has almost no tannins, making it highly gulpable. A fine example of the potential of this grape varietal when grown outside of Bordeaux.

A crushable cab if ever there was such a term. Could be marketed as such and sell tonnage, but thankfully it remains a self-respecting hidden gem that breaks the scoreboard in the value, novelty, and guilty pleasure categories.

Pure rich cabernet fruit and zero oak flavor. Delicious and splendidly aromatic. Why isn't more cabernet made this way?
