Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 91.3 points

  • A deep purplish-red with just a bit of clearing at the rim. Expressive and full bodied on the palate, revealing dark cherries, black olives, rosemary, garrigue, black pepper and pencil lead. Quite complex. The alcohol is definitely on the higher end, but I think they manage it fairly well here; the tannins, too, are plenty grippy but not overwhelming. It’s definitely on the younger side, but it’s already drinking well; this could easily cruise another 5-10 years.

  • From a restaurant menu, 30 minute decant. Drinking very open and nicely, it was a surprise. Inky and dark in the glass. Fruity aromas on the nose, dark plums on the palate plus a hit of green leaves and pepper and spice. Very very smooth.

  • Not that often do I get to write the 1st CT TN on a wine. Definitely recommend with the caveat that this wine is still quite young with the best days yet to come - drink or hold, if drunk now recommend a 60-90 minute decant but definitely leaning on the hold. Anticipated maturity is in 2-3 years followed by a decade+ of high level drinking if cellared appropriately. A reasonable QPR wine at this point and will eventually mature into quite a good QPR wine. A biodynamically farmed and produced interesting syrah / mourvedre blend from the La Clape AOP of the Languedoc region in southern France from a top producer. Medium bodied, dark purple, no bricking, fragrant and somewhat spicy and at this point still somewhat disjointed - balance, complexity and depth along with an improvement in the score will come with time. Right now very syrah dominant. Nose bright, sharp and fragrant with dark stone fruit, cedar and garrigue. Flavor profile lean and dark fruit dominant with hints of black pepper, leather and stone.
