  • The last of three bottles, none of which was worth the price (or hype). On the nose, chalky blueberry and wild berry is overshadowed by funky stewed cherry, with notes of mushroom, forest floor, and smoke. On the palate, more stewed cherry, marred by a roasted, smoky note. Not displeasing; just too overdone.

  • This performed beautifully for us... open nose, full bodied red fruit with brown spices and a medium-long finish. Plenty of energy left in this one; drinks like a much younger wine, but for me, a well-integrated one with no heat or hard angles. Peaking 2012-2013 (?)

  • Better than a prior bottle two years ago. Very rich nose of black cherry and brown sugar, with menthol and mineral notes. Palate is fruit forward, sweet black cherry, blackberry and rhubarb. Very acidic and somewhat hot. No need to rush to drink this one, as it shows no signs of going downhill.

  • A healthy dose of new oak comes through on the nose - more than what my personal preference is for, but still in check, and filled with lush fruits as well. Sour/sweet cherries and more of the rhubarb that I find only in Chasseur SVD pinots - an aroma I very much enjoy. Mouthfeel is substantial - very 'new world' in character. On the palate, rich cherry sauce, a bit of the rhubarb I get in the nose, red berries, and a strong dose of acidity, which makes me believe this wine could go several more years, as it has both the fruit and the backbone to last. I'm again pleased with the Chasseur SVD Pinots...very unique, very enjoyable.

  • A brooding pinot. Earthy, chalky nose with notes of chocolate, cream, and vanilla. On the palate, full blown chocolate covered cherries, with chalky overtones. Drying tannins. Slightly hot. Definitely needs time or a thorough decant.
