Community Tasting Notes (5) Avg Score: 94.5 points

  • 2 hour decant; paired with grilled pork chops and broccoli. Nose of oak, vanilla, and blackberries. Flavors are very rich, full of blackberry and cassis fruit, cigar box, sweet vanilla, with black tea tannins showing up on the lengthy finish. Outstanding wine at this young (for Quilceda Creek) age! Glad I have another to sit on for another 5+ years. Drink now with a couple hours of air - 2038+.

  • Easy to stay at 94 points. After a 2 hour decant this cat is ready to go for maximum enjoyment. Packed with dark fruits (Blackberry, Black Current and Black Berry) wrapped with cigar and vanilla. Nicely balanced and very drinkable now.

  • A lot is packed into this Washington Cabernet and a 2 hour decant helped to tease the layers and flavors out.

An aroma of dark fruits with cigar box, leather and a smokey hint. The acids, alcohol and tannins were amazingly balanced. A heavy bodied wine that screams to be pair with a slightly fatty proteins like a Ribeye which we did.

Red and black current, leather and a spicy vanilla finish rounds this gem out. Enjoy now with a good decant IMO.

  • Opened on a whim Thursday to pair with pasta with a meat sauce. Was able to decant for an hour. This is already opening up nicely and paired better with food than on its own. Enjoy now with some air but better in 5. Good value at the mailing list price.

  • “This wine is comprised of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon from Champoux and Mach One vineyards, and 3% Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Franc adds a floral aromatic lift, providing additional complexity and finesse. It has aromas and flavors of intense blueberry and black plum fruit, with elements of violets, ginger, graphite, and chocolate.”
