As before. Tasted next to a younger Santa Rita Hills pinot, this was the meatier, burlier, heftier wine. Also, after tasting a few redder Châteauneuf-du-Pape late last year, this draws a lot of similarities in terms of complexity, weight and just flavor. One of my favorite vintages of Vespidae to drink relatively young... we're still burying our 18s for another 4-5 years minimum. YUM.

Red fruit up front, moving directly into a complex core with mid-tone notes, earth and spice, some pepper, finishes long on both acid and tannin. Not nearly the beast that the 2018 was, this has more finesse while also having nice heft. Good with a lamb stew, fantastic next to a mixed salami plate.
