The only thing I'd heard about this grape was that it's highly aromatic, which was certainly true of this bottle. I was less sure if that meant floral and light and elegant like a Ruché, which somehow doesn't seem right for a wine called Lacrima. I needn't have worried: this is dark, inky, brooding, and unique.

This has the wild, almost aggressively aromatic profile that I love in Lacrima: peony, lavender, tarragon. The palate is dark, leading with raspberry, but with plenty of meaty and floral accents too. The tannins are minerally and firm. This was still delicious 4+ days in, and should keep improving over time.

Dark inky purple, dark fruit, floral, tar on nose. Black and blue fruits are overwhelmed by the dry mouthfeel from the first sip. Leather and tar are prevalent. Not enjoyable.

Inky, and very interesting on the nose. Really floral. And then a touch hard on the palate.
