Like other '04 Jasnieres I drank on release and then later with some development, this was quite lean and herbal in its youth, but has put on weight with time in bottle. It has now taken on a very gentle honeyed richness at its core, perhaps at the expense of some of the vibrant minerality it showed in youth. This bottle started out with a slightly oxidative bruised apple thing, but really perked up in the glass, and the last glass was the best. Last bottle of a half case, but if I had more I wouldn't be afraid to let it ride another year or two.

Smoky, flinty, celery-driven chenin. Is Jasnières the Chablis of the Loire Valley? This is the most soil-driven Jasnières in my experience and a great value at ~$16. I wish I had more to enjoy over the next three years or so.

All peanut buttery/dry/crushed seashell bizarreness, with plenty of acid and no premox. Quite nice.

There is something chemical in these wines, undrinkable to me...
