Finally a zin I can get onboard with. I'm usually not a big fan of zin since they tend to be for me, too much fruit, not enough structure. This is really nice. It has some serious acidity which I don't see much in zins and it has nice rich fruit like most Robert Craig wines. I taste black fruit, blackberry, with a hint of red fruit but also nice tannin and acidity. Very nice wine. In a good place right now. Nice with some food. Had it over two days and similar notes each day. Definitely has structure to hold if you like as well.

Killer Howell Mountain Zin. Red fruit and brambly blackberry, with white pepper spice and mountain herbs on the palate. Drinks like a Howell Mountain wine, and i absolutely love it.
This particular iteration of the Black Sears Zin fruit is powerful yet perfectly balanced in tannins, acidity, and body.
This can definitely age and get more complex, but it is drinking terrific right now with a 1 hour+ decant

Seventh red wine is the 2018 Howell Mountain Zinfandel from the estate and first Zinfandel this trip. Deep ruby red in appearance. Dark yet floral nose with white peppercorn and brambleberries. Medium tannins (6.5/10) and a medium plus body. Great structure and mouthfeel with some brambleberries, boysenberries and herbs. Long finish. Drink till 2030.

Berry nose, deep purple color. Beautiful blackberry with tobacco, leather and grassy notes. This is a great wine. Merry Christmas!
