  • Good. Plum and cherry fruit carried in a leather satchel. great QPR.

  • Very much what I'm looking for in a Barbera. Outstanding QPR. This bottle shone with fruit-forward goodness. Cherries, vanilla, candy, cola and spice reigned in with a sophistication that belies the $16 price tag.

  • This is a very drinkable barbera. I was on my way to a local Italian bistro (red checkered table cloth) and stopped in my favorite Vino Shop. Nice flavor, cherries, earthy, "classical long Italian finish". At $12.99 it is fine "pop and drink Pizza wine". (It was challenging to report on the nose of this wine, as my bistro has small, low end wine glasses and they pour almost to the top...)

  • Deeply pigmented, hints of ruby. Big, rich, glycerin-driven earthy cherries, spice, and hints of dusty tannin. Quite acidic, very noticeably on the finish, but works wonders with food--refreshes, does not leave a heavy feeling, despite the glycerin texture. I can see where this would be controversial: if one drank this without food, it would seem akin to lemon juice, but with food it makes for a nice meal.

  • Very tart! Sorry for not being more complete but this was drunk at the end of a bit of a binge and that is the one note that I remember. I don't remember much in the way of Tanins so am not sure if this will cellar well (which may counter some of the tartness of youth). Pressing my memory, I recall heavy floral notes.
