  • Herzog, Special Edition, Cabernet Sauvignon, Warnecke Vineyard, Chalk Hill, 1999: Tasted blind. This bottle was stored in absolutely impeccable conditions since its release, and it shows! Dark purple towards ruby at the rim. On the nose, distinct aromas of green bell pepper, fresh blackberries, tobacco leaves and roasted coffee beans. Full-bodied, with a focused, ample texture. Good concentration and intensity on the palate, with notes of tart blackberries, bell pepper, plums followed by notes of tea leaves and licorice root. The medium acidity and ripe tannins carry the wine well throughout the long, persisting finish which shows hints of nutmeg and mint. And here is yet another Chalk Hill that proves again it is the very best Mevushal wine on the kosher market with impressive complexity and cellaring ability. Drink now- 2022. 13% Abv.
