Not a style of wine I drink very often so I won’t leave a score, but I thought this was rather terrible. I’m wondering if my bottle was flawed in light of the positive comments here.
Hazy orange/brown in the glass, it looked about like iced tea. The nose is sherried with some marshmallow and spoiled nuts. It gets a little better with air but 3 of us were unable to finish the bottle. I won’t buy it again.
This is fantastic. Black tea, thyme, citrus, molasses, precious woods on the nose. Firm structure with high acid and grippy tannin. Complex, open, balanced, just great.
Felt like this didn’t hold up too well on the second day. Oxidation came more to the front.

sherry like nose along with jasmine and other floral notes. needs air and to slightly warm if too cold to show its stuff. reminds me, loosely, of a white lopez de heredia - hazelnuts, sherry, funky delivery - but this is its own beautiful thing. the palate is a kaleidoscope of dried fruits, floral, tea, sherry, and exotic spices, somehow it all pulls together in a enjoyble and pleasurable wine. I have had some orange wines where it is too funky, or cerebral, and while this has funky and intellect, it has a lot fo soul and remember all of it from the next day.

This is probably the most drinkable Paolo Bea I have had. This wine is so dry it just sucks the acidity out your mouth. You have to have this with food. Dried citrus peels, salinity and unripe berries.
