This has fallen off a cliff. What once was rich ripe fruit has turned into raisin juice, balsamic vinegar with a hint of rubbing alcohol. This has been stored in a temp controlled cellar since release. It is disappointing how so many of these ultraripe style pinots are aging so poorly.

--- COLOR: Hazy ruby-garnet NOTE: Bought directly from the winery and though it's not necessarily an abused bottle it hasn't been stored in consistent conditions for the past year. Red fruit jam from nose to finish, extremely one-dimensional. There might be some leather and tobacco in there, but it's all like a piece of nice toast with twice as much jam on it as it needs. Not typical of my Chasseur Pinot experience. This is unbalanced and not enjoyable.
DECANT: 1 hr GLASS USED: Pinot Noir TASTE: 8.3 COST: 50 VALUE: 2.0 PREVIOUSLY TASTED: n/a TRY AGAIN: n/a PAIRING: Tony's Pastrami Inquiries can be addressed to troypeterson@usa.net ---

Not good at all. Tasted like a blackberry slurpee infused with cheap vodka and wood chips, with alcohol burn from start to finish. Smelled like lighter fluid. Let's just say this is not what I look for in a pinot.

Nice fruit, acid out of balance, somewhat one-dimensional.
