It’s a very full bodied relatively powerful Chianti Classico. Whilst I enjoyed its power I felt it lacked elegance and finesse. It had forest floor characters but it lacked the cherries and plums characteristics found in the classier Chiantis. I’m not sure that age will improve it. So for me it’s solid but not great

Sangiovese Mini Expo (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Franks says “Penfolds does Chianti” – this is very oaky on the nose; caramel, vanilla, slight coconut, sweet spice, and a little cedar. And the oak rather dominates the palate the detriment of the juicy acidity, woody tannins, and muted red fruit. Nah.

A besoin d'une heure en carafe ou deux.
Néanmoins bin, mais pas le meilleur Chianti. Je préfère leur 100% Cabernet-Sauvignon
