  • This wine is somewhat typical of the 03's in burgundy. A little hot on the nose, though not excessively, and the fruit is not clean, pure or fresh like more typical vintages. A little cooked ,or stewed, cherry, and a little dirty- plus a hint of mushroom. On the palate there is decent structure and the tannins and acids are balanced with the fruit, however the fruit is, like the nose hotter and a veering towards canned or stewed. Not bad, but not classic burgundy. Good, but lacking some of the complexity and finesse... with the finish being a bit marc-like. For the price there is better out there, for the vintage not bad. Drink now.
