Moncur Syrah/Shiraz (Bistro Moncur, Sydney): Reductive, slightly rubbery, red over black fruit, slight sense of concentration. It's what I would anticipate from traditional Victorian Shiraz production. Medium plus intensity acidity married to fresh black fruits prove tangy. Chalky, textured tannins are integrated, alcohol warmth is present on the finish. Clean, balanced. Okay

Black and blue fruit on nose, a bit of spice, continuing to palate. Pepper and sage, acidity doing wonders with the mouthful into a long plum finish
