Made by Dourthe Lots of autumn fruit like brambles and raspberries, very ripe fruit, fleshy, some toasty oak and nice tannic cut to it and earthiness to remind you that you’re in Bordeaux. Certainly not the most elegant wine but lots of fun for the money.

Good Ordinary Claret. Exactly what it says on the bottle. Deep purple colour. Melange of blue and purple fruits with a bit of earthiness. Not complex but decently balanced and pleasant to drink. Seemed to hit the spot tonight for very casual drinks.
From the special Queen's Platinum Jubilee bottle.

This would be worth putting in a decanter for a while to see the development but as a pop and pour, GOC is as reliable as ever and this particular vintage was slightly reminiscent in terms of style and quality of the 2016, ie top notch. Quite fruit forward but still excellent value.
