Lovely wine, with its high acidity as noticeable standout. Green apply, chalky minerality, lemon, easy drinking but not a lot of complexity (perhaps to come?).

A private (second) lunch (Café Parlotte, Amsterdam, NL): Ultra-rare, 400 bottles produced. Vines planted in Ludes in 1961, Chardonnay de sélection massale, low on the slope, southern exposure, full limestone soil, bottled May 2021. Huge acidity (pH: 2.25!) is perfectly integrated and wrapped in fruit, remarkably with a clear Jura typicity on the nose, elegant weight (12.5%), seamless texture, taut but relaxed, green apple and lemon meringue, lemon zest, palpable chalky minerality, great energy and drive, long and salty, pure finish. A magnificent example of its style.

20 Coteaux Champenois - tasted blind: During a Domaine visit which confirmed that Bereche is a very strong, upcoming producer to look out for. Lots of gooseberry and citrus aromas here, very expressive, apparently ph is 2.25 (!) but the wine is not lean, more like a blend of a Chablis Grand Cru and a NZ Sauvignon Blanc. I am not really a white wine person but this wine confirmed that the vin clair material this house produces is first class.

A private dinner with friends (Restaurant Rijsel, Amsterdam, NL): Identical to my previous note. I have now personally consumed 0.5% of the global stocks of this wine!

Not blind, at the winery
Not a big fan of Coteaux but this is one of the best. Quality wise like an village Burgundy, reminds to Jura wine. 91-92
