  • Pleasant, but slightly subdued aromas of ripe apple, under ripe stone fruit, and nuts. Tart citrus, nuts, apples, peaches, and oak on the palate. Acid seems a little out of balance, but the finish is delicious and long. Better with food and pretty close to room temp.

  • At RBS Presenters Lunch, Renaissance Chancery Court Hotel, Holborn, London WC1. No formal note. Heavily oaked nose, with creamy vamilla oak dominant. The plate is plump and also dominated by creamy oak. There is certainly good balancing, fresh acidiity and given plenty of time the oak may integrate and begin to reveal some fruit, but I was worried by the short and slightly metallic finish. Not at all convincing on this showing.

  • From cask: Nicely elegant nose - crisp appley fruit - but not much depth. Very stylish and well poised but not as much to it as the Perrieres. Great finish. 4-
