90/91. Lovely cherryish aromas and good freshly fruited linear palate with good length and freshness. Needs a couple of hours aeration. Drink now or lay down 2-4 years. Will have this with Spaghetti Bolognese. A new Frescobaldi wine! 13.5%.

Bought at Costco on sale, $6 off so only $15.99. Certainly worth it, with decent, juicy cherry fruit for easy, early drinking. Should be great with a pizza. Since I just scored this awhile ago, I won't score tonight, but the score would be the same as before. Yet more evidence that tasty wine need not break the bank.

Light purple color. Juicy and ripe on the nose with rich black cherries and plum sauce, laced with menthol, cinnamon, gingerbread, with black tea, tobacco, and sage – deep and inviting. Smooth tannins frame the wine well, with medium acidity, and a juicy, dark stage of black cherries, plum sauce, and raspberries. The fruit blends well with tones of dark chocolate, coffee grounds, magic marker, anise, black pepper, black tea. Lovely stuff that needs some air, braised meat, and a cold night to show its best. Should age really nicely, too, but delicious young. Sangiovese and Merlot aged two years in oak.
