Excellent indeed: black cherries, pepper, ripe and fresh, hints of graphite and road dust, pleasant green herbaceous notes. Almost no funky notes. Recommended .

Excellent, blue fruit, black pepper, no oak getting in the way. if the reduction of Syrah every seems offputtingly chemical, then this might be a great pivot. for its quality, well priced

This is my first exposure to Moric's higher-end Blaufränkischs and it's a noticeable step up from the "standard" bottlings. 30 minutes in a narrow decanter was necessary to remove the initial sour fruit. A mixture of sour and ripe fruit both red and black; black tea, graphite, and raw bell peppers lay underneath. The tannins are grippy but complement the nose well. This is definitely a deep, complex wine that deserves
Drinking this at its current stage in life is like drinking a high-quality villages Burg young—it's a wonderful experience but you wonder how much better as it evolves into stewed fruit and roasted peppers. No regrets though.

See my earlier note from 12-02-2022.
Same score but it's opened up nicely and didn't need as much air before shining!
