Community Tasting Notes (9) Avg Score: 85 points

  • Clearly I didn't need to open this bottle, since I have almost no recognition of it, but judging by the other reviews, maybe it was a fortunate pick. Will review my other bottle when I get to it.

  • The wine looks Purple colored. The legs are Medium. It smells like Petrol, and Acetic Acid. No amount of aeration and decanting will get rid of the funky aroma. It has slight tastes like Black currant (cassis), Raspberry, and Raisin. The body is Medium/Full. The wine finishes Medium. Not impressive for the price. I've gone through 3 bottles and they are all the same, unfortunately I have one more.

  • **With copious amounts of air some fruit has been coaxed forward, tannins somewhat balanced and some cabernet character established. As I have little experience evaluating very young wines, I'm guessing that this wine REALLY needs further cellaring to develop into something I would consider drinkable. I'm upping my score to 82 and removing it from the average to account for my inability to evaluate this properly at this time.

Bitter, astringent and vegetal. Fruit hidden by tannins but improved with decanting through a rabbit aerator and a day's worth of air. Maybe a few years of cellaring with cure what ails this. I'll try again in two years. 72 points.

  • Turpentine nose, but the palate is OK. Hard to call as Cab, especially Oz cab. Mineral element. Unique.

  • This wine confuses me.
Dark as petite sirah, nose could be a hot shiraz. Light body could be pinot. Some cab-fruit, but this would be tough call blind. Not unpleasant, but not worth getting more.
