Time to drink what you have left. Still a lingering elegance for the first hour and then a mild collapse in flavour. A charming wine grown a touch gnarly.

Gresh below puts it well. V glad I left it as first bottle didn't wow. This time the alcohol was there but not blowing everything else ( and there is a lot ) away. Deep colour with a purple edge. Good strong Australian nose with a hint of the old "sweaty saddles" but possibly the Eucalyptus. Loads of blackcurrant fruit with tannin well integrated. Actually elements of Bordeux flavours. Super long with good complexity

Only my second bottle of this (I think that the other was the 2004). In both cases, this thing has been a chameleon in the glass. I'm not sure if its changing, or I'm just picking up nuances, or both. There's probably half a dozen components on the nose & it would be a folly to try to identify them. Think of how the spices in a gingerbread cookie come together & that's what's going on here. Tannins and acid have given way to the fruit, which is round w/ a big presence. More of a spine would make this great and maybe its lost it w/ time. At any rate, drinking nicely now.

Six years on and still going. Still elegant but a touch of fade. Fruits are more subtle and depth a little less.
