Popped and poured and then let sit on the glass for 20 minutes or so. Pretty darn good wine! I purchased a bottle of each of the Tan Fruit wines from this vintage and the first three were good wines but nothing special, but this wine possessed a little extra that easily made it the best of the four. A touch of new wood disqualifies it from classic Chablis comparisons but the lemon-y-ness and minerality counteracted the ripe fruit and oak very well. Most likely not a buyer again as there are a plethora of other Oregon chards at the moment, but an enjoyable bottle nonetheless. 92pts.

My first taste of the Tan Fruit chardonnays: This is a nicely made, somber chardonnay, with moderate acidity, drinkable now. I was hoping for more incisiveness at this price level -- some zing that commands attention -- but I was nonetheless perfectly happy to be drinking this.

This took about 2 hours (at room temp) to fully integrate.
Initially got yellow apple, pear, tangerine, honey and cream on the nose. That transitioned to more of a tropical fruit salad (with strong passionfruit and guava) and spearmint.
A bit oxidative at first with baked pear, roasted macadamia nuts and marzipan. Over a couple of hours, that transitioned to juicy pear, plantain, sea salt caramel and bay leaf.
At 2 hours this seems to knit together and really hits its stride. Really good.

A bit of a puzzle. Cold, then drinking temperature, then too warm, then back to just right, this wine oscillated between decent and really exotic and flavorful. Never lush, never oaky but intriguing. Left me wanting to dig in more, understand it better. But I’m still puzzled. Saline and lemon curd, medium-plus acidity. Good stuff - perplexing.

Fragrant, and unique, but not sure it deserves the crazy high ratings it got. I like it and for the price it was great.
