Pale yellow color with faint green overtones; rapid carbonation in the glass. Lime, green apples, honeyed florality and a touch of bread crumbs in the nose; a hint of smoke and a touch of rubber in the background. Surprisingly generous and even slightly developed nose for an inexpensive Cava. Very fresh, acidic and almost bone dry palate. Fresh, tart apple taste gives nice zing to the mouthfeel, that is otherwise quite broad and full bodied. Ripe fruitiness, some honeyed sweetness and a touch of minerality complement the apple flavors. The bubbles are small and overall the mousse is long, elegant and frothy. Acidic tartness, florals and a touch of toastiness in the finish with the slightest hint of alcoholic heat.
Very nice! Definitely one of the best in its price range: surprisingly complex, very balanced, nicely structured and even slightly developed Cava at very reasonable price. Even though almost bone dry, it is also surprisingly approachable to a palate more accustomed to sweeter sparklers because of its balanced ripe fruitiness and nice, rich expression. At 12,99€, this is definitely an excellent buy.
