  • Extraordinary! Gorgeous medium yellow - a tinge dark for riesling. On the nose: petrol dominates and clouds the floral and fruity aspect. However, once it hits the tongue, an electric sensation brings joy to bear. Light Asian pears, chrysanthemum tea and ripe mangos play with gentle honeyed sweetness along with the slightest touch of effervescence. There is harmony and balance plus a mild intensity finish that lingers sufficiently. A wonderful showing from a family estate founded in 1783. *Of note: although not an official VDP producer, the family's Olberg plot directly north of Nierstein is officially classified as a top-tier "Grosse Lage" by the VDP and part of the world famous Roter Hang in the Rheinhesen.
